Contest Rules

Rules are for the obedience of fools and the guidance of wise men.

The theme
Anything related to Spring! Whether it be a "flower power platformer", "honeybee shooter" or "ant colony builder". Just relate it to spring in the widest sense and use your imagination ;).

The genre
Casual! Because these are small and "easy" to make for everyone. It may be 2D or 3D, whatever suits you most.

Deadline
The deadline of the contest is set on Februari 28th 2009, 11:59. As long as it hasn't yet become Feb. 29th 2009, 00:00 anywhere in the world, your submissions are still valid.

The price
Total price donation by the forum users. Winner gets 50%, second 30%, third 20%. Furthermore, when we reach enough popularity, JCL agreed on adding an extra price!

How to submit
Publish your game with 3d gamestudio without any installers and without installation of external tools/programs. Add a 640x480 screenshot of your game in it. This is your game's presentation, make sure to make an interesting shot. Add a text file with your information (name, email and gamestudio version and edition) and additional info about the game. Zip or Rar everything into one file, and send it to: contests at joozey nl.

  • Need to match the given theme and the given genre.
  • Should contain original and legal content only.
  • Have to be accompanied with a 640x480 snapshot of the game.
  • Can be updated and resubmitted until the deadline.
  • There may be more submissions per person, but all will be judged and awarded individualy.
  • The contents should apply common sense; no racism etc.
  • All Acknex versions are allowed, from Acknex1, 2 and 3 to A4, A5, A6 and A7.
  • Your game must run at least under Windows without any installation- and/or extension programs, with the exception of DosBox for versions older than A4.
  • A legal registered version of 3dgs must be used only.
  • Participants are expected to donate money, but they do not need to.

Judgement

  • Judgement will be based on creativity, originality, gameplay and playability (so spend some time on controls, camera views and interactions!).
  • To compensate your horrible programmer art, add sarcasm, irony and dry humor and you will be rated high nonetheless.
  • Each judge will divide X points over the submission's several criterias. One criteria weights heavier than the other, and the final amount of points per submission is a weighted sum from all its criterias. Most points win.
  • When there's a shared winning place among two or more submissions, the judges will discuss the winner privately.
  • Judges can participate in the contest, but they are not allowed to cast points on theirselves.
